This is a great book for anyone who has recently experienced a crisis in their life.
Izzy has it all. She's pretty and popular and is in with the "in" crowd. Then she goes on a date with a senior guy who drives her home drunk and smashes into a tree. Izzy has to have one of her legs amputated from the knee down. She has to learn how to cope with her new life and she finds out who her true friends are. Her best friends don't know how to act around her and she doesn't know how to act around them, after all what do they have in common now?
Izzy becomes friends with the last person she thought she would ever be friends with, Rosamunde, who helps her through the recovery.
This is a thought provoking book and written so well that you can almost feel Izzy's pain as she undergoes therapy and her emotional struggles as she has to learn how to adjust to her new life.

As expected.
There isn't much bad to say about this book. I disliked Izzy and loved her at the same time. I loved how she really found herself and discovered what she really was going to do. I adored Rosamunde and enjoyed going through Izzy's inner feelings and emotions.
Bought this as a gift for a friend's daughter. This is one of my favorite books to read to my class when I taught 6th grade. It has a great message about friendship and how one mistake can change your life forever.
I LOVE THIS BOOK!! RECCOMMENDED!!
I highly recommend this book for any teenager about to start driving. Have made all my kids read it.
'Izzy' is the kind of book that can make a reader out of a middle school student. (see 'Naked Reading') As an adult tutor of a middle school student, 'Izzy Willy-Nilly' was very difficult for me to put down.

There are great lessons about friendships; about overcoming depression; and about family ties that can be a saving grace. The book may be classified as 'Young Adult,' but grown-ups can enjoy it too!
I read this book back when I was in high school and loved it then and I still love it now. I was born disabled and there weren't a lot of books out there that deal with disabilities. This one really spoke to me because I really lived it. I highly recommend this book to all high school students, but especially those who are disabled. Izzy relationship with her family was close to my relationship with mine. I to had brothers.
